Invasion of the Sickies
Last year during Cousin Camp, Emmie came down with a summer virus. It gave her a fever and slowed her down ever-so-slightly for the first couple of days. Mainly, she just seemed a little less energetic than normal (meaning she still had more energy than 99.9999999% of the world's population) and she went to bed a little earlier than usual. A trip to the doctor confirmed that it was just a virus that needed to run its course.
This year, in the spirit of cousinly competition, Abigail has decided to one-up Emmie from last year. She started with a barky kind of cough and a fairly high fever. The doctor confirmed that she has a virus, but she managed to wind up with a double ear infection on top of it. By yesterday afternoon, she was feeling pretty miserable. We went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch and she didn't even want to play in the play area and at Michael's she didn't even try and pull any bottles of paint down off of the shelves. She perked up though when we got to one of her favorite places in the world (and the only place I took pictures yesterday...the rest of the day, she was hanging on to me like a koala making it difficult to hold my camera):

The twisted sisters, of course, ordered the same thing: chocolate cookie dough in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone. When I ordered, I guess I was tired or it was some kind of Freudian slip, because I said, "I'll have two scoops of sugar please." The lady looked at me a bit oddly at that request.

Abigail and Ruby had Strawberry ice cream in little cones

When I brought them to the table, Ruby said, "Hey! How come the girls got big chocolate cones and I got this little one?" When I reminded her that I'd asked her what kind of cone she wanted and she said the same as Abigail, this is what she did:

I guess next time, she won't be as ready to jump on the I'll-have-whatever-Abigail's-having-bandwagon
You can really tell by my baby's eyes in this picture that she doesn't really feel well:

I wish I could say that she was 100% better today, but she's actually worse. Her fever is up around 103 degrees and she took a nap from 11:00 to 2:30 and she's still just kind of laying around. I'm hopeful that her antibiotics will kick in soon and she'll feel better. The big girls are outside playing. Abigail doesn't want me to leave her side and she's not really up for any grand adventures, so today is a pretty slow and boring day at Cousin Camp. Hopefully, once Steve gets home we can do a couple of crafts and science projects. Having a sick sister/cousin is no fun for anyone!!!!!
