A Day In The Life

Hello!  Are you still there?  I wouldn't blame you if you'd left the building entirely!  It's like if I called you on the phone and then said, "Hang on, I'll be right back!"  And you wait.  And twiddle your thumbs.  And wait.  And twirl your hair.  And you wait.  And let out a frustrated sigh.  And you wait.  And then you decide if I really want to talk to you I'll call back.  Yeah, that's what my lack of updating has been like - the blog equivalent of call waiting....

But, I'm back and trying again - maybe I'll manage to update more than once in the phase of a moon!

So, I took my camera to Wal-Mart earlier this week.  When I told Steve, he rolled his eyes and said, "You are so weird.  You know - one day someone is gonna call me and say, Come get your crazy wife."  Well, in my defense, it's not like I have a lot of picture-taking opportunities - I can't exactly take the girls by myself to a museum and take shots.  It takes all of my attention and both of my arms to keep them reigned in at a place like that.  At least at Wal-mart, I can contain Abigail in the cart and still manage to keep Gracie within arm's reach.  So, here are the results.

Okay, so carrying my camera to the grocery store makes me strange?  What about the fact that Gracie went to Wal-Mart dressed as Laura Ingalls, complete with boots and bonnet?  Umm, hello....

Here we are on an aisle that I used to spend a lot of time on...check out that price - more than $3.00 for a pack of stickers?  I can get a whole digital kit for that!

And here's a craft that I've never tried (well, I did try once when I was a kid - failed miserably!).   See, there really is one hobby/craft that I haven't gotten addicted to. Hmmm, maybe I should try my hand at it again.  Just kidding, Steve!

And check out these gorgeous flowers.  I saw them in a beautiful sidewalk florist shop.  Just kidding - they're silk flowers in the craft section in Wal-Mart.  Are you starting to become concerned about how much time the girls and I spend in the craft department at Wal-Mart?   Hey, you do what you can to stay sane....

And check out Gracie with these fresh vegetables from the Farmer's Market.  Ummm, guess again - you got it - fake vegetables in the craft section at Wal-Mart.

Really, I think I should be thankful that she'll eat ANY vegetables...

I mean, wax is good for your digestive system, isn't it?

We finally made it out of the craft section and headed to dairy.  I don't know why I took this picture - I do know that it was at about this moment that I saw Gracie, out of the corner of my eye, running pell mell down the aisle.  Didn't I mention something earlier about keeping her at arm's length?  Well, forget about that - at least she was still in the store.

And finally, just to prove that we actually made it to some real food and not just the craft section and the snack area...  As I took this, Gracie was pulling leaves off of a head of cabbage and trying to feed them to Abigail.  See, I feed my kids healthy snacks!

So you see, Steve, I HAD to take my camera with me to Wal-Mart.  Because our life is just too exciting for words - way too exciting - it needs a picture to capture all that excitement!
